Edgar Enrique Rentería b. 7 August 1975 in Barranquilla, Colombia is a shortstop for the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball. Rentería hit the game-winning three-run home run to clinch the World Series for the Giants. His contributions earned him the 2010 World Series Most Valuable Player Award.
Rentería is well remembered for his 11 inning two RBI single in Game Seven of the 1997 World Series to give Florida a 3-2 victory over the Cleveland Indians. Rentería signed a four-year $ 40,000,000 contract with the Boston Red Sox in December 2004.
Rentería Flight 0293 with 14 homers and 70 RBI. In the same year he committed just 13 errors, as opposed to 30 in his years with Boston. He quickly became an integral key to the Atlanta Braves offensive attack, hitting in front of Chipper Jones.
