The 21-year-old Bajan beauty helped rally thousands of people back in February to register as a possible donor for Jasmina Anema, a 6-year-old New York City girl who received a life-saving bone marrow transplant. RiRi told People on Thursday, “I love this little girl and I am so happy that Jasmina received her transplant today. Miracles do happen. I hope more people sign up as bone marrow donors with DKMS so we can save more lives like hers. Jasmina remains in my prayers for a fast recovery!” Get well soon Jasmina!

| Leona Lewis is Mani-Pedi Magnificent Posted: 12 Jun 2009 05:55 PM PDT  Leona Lewis and her gal pals get in some quality bonding time with mani-pedis in Los Angeles on Thursday (June 11). The 24-year-old British singing sensation is working on the follow-up to her Grammy-winning album Spirit and is now amping up for what could be a two-year world tour. Leona has shared, “I’ll be touring in 2010 and through to the year after. I just can’t wait.” The yet-titled album will feature collaborations with Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. “The music has a different feel this time. It’s more of a live, heavier sound with a lot of real instruments. It’s something I’ll be able to perform live,” Leona told Britain’s Daily Star. |

People reports “they requested to sit together” but they wound up not sitting near each other. The Los Angeles Lakers beat out the Orlando Magic in overtime, 99-91. Rihanna was recently subpoenaed to testify in Chris's assault case. Here's what the 30-year-old Fall Out Boy frontman told JustJared.com at the event: JJ: How did you get involved with JED? PW: I did this PSA with MTV, I’m pretty aware of how people this age can be affected, college kids, that’s why I did that as well. JJ: It was your 30th birthday on Friday, what was your favorite gift? PW: My wife [Ashlee Simpson] gave me a pretty creative video, then she gave me the camera she made the video with which was cool. It’s like a home video and has [my son] Bronx in it. JJ: Do you guys live in NY or LA now? PW: We live in LA, but we want to get a place here. She’s filming Melrose Place in LA, though. His look is a severe version of how you looked a few years back. PW: Big hair and eyeliner have been in forever. Motley Crue and the Cure, even [Bob] Dylan had it for a period. He’s a good singer but I’m like the only person on the planet that doesn’t follow American Idol. JJ: Where is Fall Out Boy nowadays? PW: We’re on a little bit of a break, then we go to China for the first time and a couple different places in Asia, then we’re going on tour with Blink-182 and a couple of other bands in the states. JJ: The show you hosted on MTV, FNMTV. Is that coming back in the fall? PW: We’re going to do specials. Honestly, video is just not as important as it used to be or I think as it should be. I think it comes in waves as well and people kind of realize that reality TV kind of killed the video star. |

Here’s what the 23-year-old actress told JustJared.com at the event: BS: Wait you’re Jared? Shut up! I love you, my friends love you, we check your site all the time. JJ:Thank you, you’re so sweet! How did you get attached to the JED Foundation, the nation’s leading organization working to prevent suicide among college students? BS: I did a PSA for them three years ago. I also had a friend who committed suicide when I was 17, so I wanted to get involved with an organization that dealt with that. Being aware of mental health issues is important and we have to help reduce the stigma of people thinking it’s something that you have to deal with on your own. JJ:Where are you with work? Is the Gossip Girl spin-off a definite no? BS: Yeah, it didn’t get picked up which is great and bad at the same time. It was a huge bummer, I really wanted the show to go, but at the same time I think that everything happens for a reason. Maybe the show didn’t get picked up because there will be better things on the horizon! JJ:Are you going to dye your hair back to brunette? BS: No! I’m staying blonde, I definitely like it better. BS: We’re about to start shooting Walks, this is my boyfriend Ryan (Rottman, pictured below), and he’s producing it and we’re about to start doing that in a few weeks. After that I have a few other projects that are lined up, so just movies and stuff. JJ:What’s the timeline for you, Ryan and the movie? BS: It happened kind of simultaneously, I read the script first and loved it before I even knew him, then it just kind of happened that he was producing it, and also in it. My character plays the girlfriend of Ryan’s character, which is actually really weird and not that far of a stretch. It’s all about a graffiti artist in NYC, and I play the girlfriend of this graffiti artist who has to go away for a while. We’re shooting in NY, too. JJ: Where’s your favorite place to shop with [BFF Vanessa Hudgens]? BS: Sometimes we just go to the mall and go to Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s and stuff like that, or we go to Third Street or Fred Segal, but mostly we just go to the mall. JJ: Is piloxing (pilates + boxing) a regular thing you do? BS: Yeah, Vanessa and I do piloxing a lot, one time like all of us girls went at the same time, but usually it’s just me and Vanessa, and usually I do it twice a week or something. JJ:Are you in NY just for the film and then heading back to LA? BS: I’m in NY tonight for the charity event, then I’ll go back to LA and then come back to NY for the film. |
