| Daniel Craig: Rooney Mara Is 'Massively Impressive' Posted: 20 Jul 2011 09:20 PM PDT  Daniel Craig suits up for an appearance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday (July 20) in Burbank, Calif. The 43-year-old British actor recently chatted with MTV News and gushed about working with Rooney Mara on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. “Rooney is massively impressive,” he said about the 26-year-old actress who plays Lisbeth Salander. “She took [the role] under a massive amount of pressure because obviously there’s a lot of expectation. I was massively impressed and she absolutely nailed this. People are hopefully going to be incredibly surprised and happy with her performance,” he added. Katy Perry leads the pack with nine nominations, including Best Pop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Special Effects, and Video of the Year for “Firework.” British songstress Adele and Kanye West tied for seven nods, while Bruno Mars earned four. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Nicki Minaj each scored three nominations. Also up for Moonmen awards: Eminem, Chris Brown, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Pitbull. The 2011 MTV VMAs airs live Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. ET. The 25-year-old English actor wore a Baltimore Orioles baseball cap as he stepped out with his actor pal, also 25. Rob recently completed work on his latest project, Cosmopolis, in Toronto. He plays a “financial wunderkind” in the film, which is based on the novel of the same name by Don DeLillo. Cosmopolis also stars Jay Baruchel and Paul Giamatti and will hit theaters in 2012.

The 38-year-old Grey’s Anatomy actor “voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus. He reports back to work next week. Business as usual,” his rep said in a statement.
